Parent help: Insure sufficient sleep, 8-9 hours. Provide nutritious meals with a reasonable amount of protein with all meals, especially breakfast. Provide a non distracting area for doing homework and keep it organized, free of clutter. Encourage doing homework early, starting too late reduces efficiency. If necessary, get academic support services in school, under an iep or 504 plan.

Several things to do: Meditation is a common strategy to learn to calm yourself and your thought process. It takes time, but meditation does help to change your brain. Yoga, exercise, and organizational strategies will help.
