It depends on stage: Stage of disease determines the prognosis. Most cases of liver cancer are diagnosed late. There are two types of cancer that need to be differentiated: primary cancer , also called hepatocellular cancer(hcc) is less common but is a very bad type and there is secondary cancer which means metastases from another cancerous organ like from colon cancer. So make sure you find out which kind she has.

Depends: I would make sure she talks with someone who is experienced with liver tumors. She may be offered surgery or chemotherapy. It would depend on how big and where in the liver is tumor is located. It will also depend on her overall health.
