If you have to: Strain often when passing stool then you may have constipation. Encourage you to drink at least 8 8 ounce glasses of water per day and to eat 5 servings of vegetables & four of fruit per day. Remain physically active. You may have to push to rid yourself of retained, dry fecal matter.
