Cancer equals pain: The majority of patients with pancreatic cancer will at some time during the course of their disease have pain. It sometimes occurs before diagnosis and is typically worse when the person lies back. It can be located in that area you would think of as the pit of your stomach or be mid back pain.

Location: Some pancreatic tail cancers rarely have pain but symptoms caused by too much Insulin (low blood sugar), to much gastrin (ulcers/dyspepsia). Head and body of pancreas cancer invade nerve plexuses and block ducts and can be quite painful. Nerve blocks; palliative care team, and radiotherapy can help many if not most.
