Maybe: The most common reasons for itchy allergic rashes on the ear lobes where ear rings are placed is nickel. Less common is cobalt. An allergist or dermatologist can use a skin test called a patch test (no needles) to determine if nickel or cobalt allergy is present. The best treatment is expensive ear rings (no nickel)!
