I have a hard, nickel sized lump under my skin along my jaw line. it is closer to my chin than my ear, and i can move it. it is sore to the touch, but there is no significant pain. i just noticed it yesterday. any idea what it could be?

Maybe: That sounds suspiciously like a blocked salivary gland duct, although other things can cause a lump. Make an appointment to see your Doctor for evaluation.

Hard painful lump: Common cause for this description is inflamed lymph node which can occur after infection of any of the multiple organisms from infection in lower part of face or tongue or teeth, tonsils. If you can think of any infection, see doctor and cell counts and urine.. if it starts to get better, then you wait 2 weeks on antibiotic and anti inflammatory medication. Other concern- STDs and cancer
