Very individualized: Treatment of ant type of headaches very difficult and very individualized. Find a neurologist you trust and follow his lead.

See below: Seems that your doctor has adopted the right approaches, i.e., prevent the headache and knock it out when it appears. Frova (frovatriptan) should help the latter, and maybe you might feel better taking an otc preventative such as butterbur, feverfew, riboflavin, co-q10, or magnesium. Consider acupuncture, occipital nerve blocks, or botox.
