A member asked:

Do lots of people get squamous cell cancer, or is it unusual?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many cases: Squamous cancer is a skin and epithelial malignancy with metastatic potential. It is associated with sun exposure, the edges of burns, and smoking. It is rather chemo resistant and is usually treated with surgery and radiation. It can be nasty and lethal so if you suspect a lesion, get it seen quickly.
