Evaluate the cause: Of the mobility and suggest treatment. Loose tooth many times means lack of bone and gum tissue support. You may have periodontal disease. You may have infection. And i'm sorry to say that the tooth may not be savable. Please seek a dental exam soon. Hope this helps!

Complete examination: The dentist would do a comprehensive examination complete with x-rays of your whole mouth, not just the loose tooth. Then the dentist would discuss the findings and the treatment options with you and you would decide upon the best treatment for yourself. This should not be a quick fix of just one tooth. Look at the whole picture and not one tooth.

Depends: Why is it loose? Could be periodontal disease, endodontic abcess, fracture, bite issues. Each of these scenarios would be treated differently.

May be just the tip of the iceberg. From the way you phrased your question I would assume it's been quite while since your last dental evaluation. A dentist will review your medical/dental history, medications, do a thorough examination & oral cancer screening, take appropriate x-rays, and may order lab tests. The diagnosis will lead to the correct therapeutic path.
