A member asked:

What does weight gain tendency mean medically? does weight gain relates only to wrong eating habits or we can gain weight without eating too much?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Recent science: Has shown in mice that an excess of calories turns on a normally silent gene in the brain. This is logical if you think of our ancestors. The gene turned on in times of plenty and they stuffed themselves. In times of scarcity they could live on the accumulated fat. If this is the same in humans (probability high) it could explain our modern problem.
