Rice gains weight.: Rice are carbohydrates. If you eat them and don't burn them through physical activity, they are stored as fat. You gain weight. If you exercise and eat a well balanced diet, there should be no significant weight gain. Not cooking it, does not save you from gaining the weight, acids in the stomach break through the rice so the body can absorb it's calories and if fortified, nutrients.
