I do not have gerd but i have to take 20 mg of omeprazole everday. am i safe from getting an ulcer?

Probably: The only reason i can think that you have to take omeprazoel daily is because you are probably taking nsaids (drugs like advil, aleve, celebrex, (celecoxib) etc) for something like arthritis. These drugs can cause ulcers and Omeprazole does have a protective effect.
