Multiple body lesion: Multiple lesions appearing simultaneously may indicate a viral/bacterial yeast infection, an immune imbalance, other systemic disorders, or even a rash to a new toothpaste. Orally an oral surgeon or hospital trained dentist can help. Outside the mouth, an internal medicine physician needs to be consulted without delay.

Separate evaluation: If multiple lesions are found in one body and exhibit a different signs and symptoms, then each problem should be given a separate evaluation, diagnosis and treatment.
