Your surgeon can : Guide you in the right direction as he knows the whole story. I see you are already on antibiotics. As a general rule if symptoms dont improve with antibiotics or if the disease gets worse then surgery is an option. It all depends on your symptoms as well. Whats bothering you could be simply the disease getting over its course. Failure of tx would be increase pain, fever or abscess on antibiotics.
