A member asked:

Do a lot of people get myocarditis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: Myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscles) may occur from a variety of sources. In addition to viral infections there are bacterial, fungal, parasitic, and other inciting organisms. In addition one can have cancerous myocarditis and also a variety of metabolic conditions can also cause this (hemochromatosis, e.g.). Cannot calculate the overall frequency with which these occur.
