Does geographic tongue usually come and go or is it constantly there?

It comes and goes : It is harmless, benign and it is not linked to any other condition. It has a white or light-colored border, it varies in size, shape and color. It moves around and it comes and goes or changes very quickly in days, weeks, or months. It could be from sensitivity to hot, spicy, or acidic foods, cigarette smoke or even toothpaste.
