Geographic tongue: Geographic tongue is a harmless condition with no known cause. It may last for a long time, it may disappear and then re-appear. One possible cause is a vitamin b deficiency. Avoid irritating it with hot, spicy foods.

Sometimes. Sometimes it remains unchanged forever. Sometimes it comes and goes. Sometimes the pattern morphs. Sometimes it completely disappears. It is a benign condition not requiring treatment. Some patients complain of hot and/or spicy foods causing irritation, so avoid them.
