If you develop geographic tongue will it be present the rest of your life or come and go?

It comes and goes!: Those demarcated red areas that vary on the upper surface of the tongue get their name because they look like a MAP outline, hence georgraphic tongue. They vary in position, and can disappear and and return. They are benign, and yes you may have them for the rest of your life.
