Very successful in : That once the pulley is released the source fo the problem is typically gone. Of course there are factors that influence "success" such as return to motion, decreased scar sensitivity and avoiding complications. Issues such as arthritis, contracture, tenosynvitis and more severe preop status may need longer recovery but the surgery generally eliminates the source of the locking if that is indeed i.
