In general no: In general pacs or premature atrial contractions are benign - not harmful. They may be caused by excessive stimulants such as caffeine, nicotine, even sugar. Anxiety can also cause this - if your physician has thoroughly evaluated this and ruled out other causes this may be the issue.

No: There is far more concern with a completely disorganized atrial rhythm called atrial fibrillation. Occasional early beats are of no concern.

Usually not: Atrial premature contractions are common and usually benign but can be associated with structural or functional abnormalities. Patients doctor should be able to explain.
