Broken thumb: Depends on the specifics, but typically bone healing under good conditions will happen within 6 to 8 weeks. Then there is the question of getting reasonable motion and strength back. Much of the answer would also depend on the type of lifting i.E are you putting weight directly on the thumb/injured area. Best to check with your own doctor as to his/her recommendations. Good luck.
