Fiber: Eating foods high in fiber is known to reduce cholesterol. Avoiding foods high in saturated and trans-fats is known to decrease cholesterol. Foods with a high glycemic index are known to increase triglycerides. To eat healthy and improve your lipid profile, consume lots of vegetables, fruits, beans, seeds, whole grains, wild alaskan salmon and a fair amount of almond and walnuts. Also exercise.
