Psychotropic meds: Seems a bit odd. Don't know why these two selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors are being paired. Is this your idea or your prescriber's idea. When you start piling ssri's on top of each other you increase risk for serotinergic syndrome. Only take your medications as prescribed. Take care.

Prozac (fluoxetine): It is risky to combine two similar medications of the same ssri group, plus, that high dose most likely will result in serotonin syndrome.

Serotonin syndrome: Some people with ocd need higher doses of ssri's than would be prescribed for depression. On the surface, this seems like using 2 medications of the same class at relatively high doses -- could risk serotonin syndrome. We would need to see the whole case, and how the person's symptoms have responded to the various meds & combinations tried over time.
