Prozac, zoloft, paxil, (paroxetine) celexa all blockbusters in the 1990's.. luvox came over from europe in 1994 yet never took off like the others..why is this

2 many side effects : Up to 40% of people taking Luvox (fluvoxamine) experience nausea--not a pleasant side effect, and about 1/3 gets headaches. Side effects are main reason for luvox's low popularity and thus tough to compare to others such as those you mentioned which have established themselves within the medical community. If you are doing well on it, congrats. If not, consult doc. Good luck.

Marketed for OCD: Luvox (fluvoxamine) was marketed very specifically for ocd and never even went for fda approval for depression. As a result, I am not sure how it even got marketed to other physicians other than psychiatrists. It is more of a specialist's drug. So it's use has been pretty narrow.
