Thrush: Candida (yeast) infection in the oral cavity is called thrush and usually presents with a white coating of the membranes, gums, tongue, etc., but may only show redness and tenderness. This can be managed with Nystatin (an antifungal), but more importantly if you are an adult with thrush you need to be checked for HIV and your immune system assessed. Good luck.
