Endometriosis: It sounds to me that you are trying to find out how endometriosis is diagnosed and treated. You are right that there are no good imaging studies for this and the best diagnosis is made by (1) high index of suspicion--pain is cyclic around menses (2) laparoscopic surgery for diagnosis and treatment. A long history of endometriosis also leads to "adhesions" that can only be treated surgically.
