Irrespective : Can be taken with or without food, ideally with a glass of water. Food has no significant effect on the extent of absorption of oxycodone from Oxycontin and liver damage is not a commonly recognized adverse effect seen with this medication. Brain damage is the number one concern.

No: Medications are usually taken on a full stomach to avoid side effects, however this will have little effect on drug metabolism which is responsible for causing liver problems.
