Can my tooth brush make my teeth sensitive?

Yes: If you are using a medium or hard toothbrush. For daily use only use a soft or sensitive brush head. Brush efficiently. Personally I am a huge fan of mechanical toothbrushes - the oral b triumph in particular. For detailing car wheels and removing carpet stains the medium and hard bristle ones work wonderfully. Not for oral applications. Hope this helps.

Maybe: If the root of the tooth is exposed and you are using a lot of pressure when you brush, then yes you can have sensitive teeth. Always use a soft toothbrush with light pressure and use short back and forth motions to brush. It's the whipping action at the tip of the brush in contact with the tooth and gums that disrupts the bacterial colonies and cleans your teeth effectively. Use sensodyne.
