It : It is normal to have a little sensitivity after having the braces taken off, but sensitivity after minor tooth reshaping is not. Try using sensodyne or one of the other sensitivity tooth pastes- i like crest's clinical sensitivity toothpaste. If this sensitivity lasts more than 2 weeks after using one of these toothpaste, get back to your dentist, you may have a cavity. Someting else to consider: is it sensitive to cold? If not, your gums may be the issue, not your teeth. Just about every patient who has braces has some form of gum disease. It is always good to have an aggressive teeth cleaning once the braces are removed.

Sensitivity : Sensitivity means that there are nerve endings in your tooth that are close to the surface. It's possible that in shaping the tooth the dentist came close to some nerve endings and hopefully the nerve endings will recede causing the sensitivity to go away, but this can take weeks, sometimes months. If it does not go away in a reasonable period of time (2 months) or worsens, you should return to your general dentist for further evaluation.

This : This is not unusual and should go away shortly. Fluoride toothpaste and sensitive paste can help. If after a few weeks, if there is no change, seek the help of your dentist.
