Reactions from sun: There are different types of reactions that can develop. Some people can develop hives from heat. Other reactions include phototoxic or photoallergic reactions. This results in a rash hours or days after sun exposure, respectively. This can be caused by medications, or by chemical sunscreens. If sunscreen is suspected, then zinc or titanium dioxide containing sunscreen is recommended.
