Elevated SGPT: Slightly elevated SGPT or ALT can be due to variety of reasons. This is one of the blood test of liver function tests. It will be helpful to know the other values. Few possible causes are non alcoholic fatty liver disease, hepatitis due viruses such as hepatitis C or B, or other causes. You should see physician for further evaluation with blood test and either ultrasound or MRI
