Pernicious Anemia: Pernicious anemia is not inheritated to my knowledge. It is usually caused by lack of the vitamins b 12 in diet ( by vegetarians) or lack of intrinsic factors in autoimmune atrophic gastritis or in patients who had part of the stomach cut off for bariatric surgery( to reduce weight) or as surgical treatment for peptic or gastric ulcers ( gastrostomy).
