Your doctor will ask you for the history of why you came to see him. So be prepared to provide details of what made you to have tests like Vitamin B12 level and the Parietal cell antibody. The diagnosis of Pernicious anemia is based on presence of low hemoglobin and large sized Red cell( Macrocytic Anemia). The cause can be located located in the Gastric/stomach or be due to small bowel disease .

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, pernicious anemia or not, you have B12 deficiency an it needs to be treated promptly, preferably by injection. Wish you good health!

Yes, pursue reasons for your low B-12 but start treatment ASAP via immediate injections of B-12. Hopefully, you will avoid neurological complications
