Depends: Were you in a situation where loud music or noise was all around you? Did you wear protection? Aside from inherited defects, the most common cause of loss is frequent unprotected exposure to loud noise. Do you have tinnitus (ringing) which is a sign of sensitivity. Invest in a pair of ear plugs and wear protective ear covers when possible if loud noise is around you.
