Iris scarring: Dilated pupil after iritis is from scar tissue that forms between the edge of the pupil and the lens called posterior synechiae. These can break down over time, so yes it can get better.

Iritis: Iritis causes the iris to stick to the underlying lens making the pupil irregular. The iris has muscle tissue that makes the pupil bigger or smaller depending on the amount of light. This constant movement of the iris may have broken the scar tissue that caused it to stick and as a result the pupil size may have changed.

;probably: A standard medication for iritis is a topical pupillary dilator of long action. It might take a while to come down but almost always will. If it is still dilated after about 3-4 weeks recheck with your ophthalmologist. By you description, it is coming down already.
