Have ER evaluation: 23 y with long depression and no antidepressant or psych consult mentioned and no history of asthma, copd, smoking or chronic bronchitis. Being young with breathing difficulty, chest pain and hurting. Should go to emergency room for evaluation. Depression does not cause breathing pain. In anxiety, can breath fast but no pain. Wish you good health.

Depressed?: Not sure why you're associating depression with shortness of breath? If it hurts to breathe, you should be evaluated. Maybe you have pleurisy? (and if you're feeling better, it will cheer you up!).
