Test for hiv antibody 1 & 2 came back negative. is this accurate if my possible exposure was 8 years ago? or should i test for the hiv virus its self?

Accurate: The antibody test would be positive by now if you were exposed to hiv; testing for the virus can be helpful in very early infection but isn't necessary at eight years out.
