I have upper abdominal swelling but normal ct blood tests within last year. dr testing for liver disease. can it develop so quickly after normal tests?

It depends on condit: Yes it can and it depends on the condition your doctor is suspecting on physical examination .You have developed upper abdominal swelling after you had the last tests and you did not mention when the cat scan and blood tests were done.Several liver diseases can happen in short time.I suggest you follow your doctors advice and let him find the cause of your condition and get proper treatment.

Yes: Liver diseases have different causes including infections from viruses and bacteria, chemical injury from toxins (tylenol, alcohol, etc.) and tumors. So yes, things can change in a year or less. Best to have your symptoms properly evaluated.
