Phosphate: The kidney removes excess phospate, this ability is degraded in ckd. Fleets phosphasoda enemas contain large amounts of sodium phosphate. It is recommended to not use phosphate enemas in chronic kidney disease. The same is true for na phosphate containing bowel preps.
