Glucocorticoids: These steroids can cause a variety of adverse effects involving the GI track. Gastritis is one of these and can cause symptoms of acid reflux. Ulcerative esophagitis and peptic ulcer disease are other possibilities, but rarely encountered. If possible, avoidance of GI irritants such as nsaids & Aspirin would greatly minimize these risks. As indicated, prophylaxis or treatmet with antacids.
