Spider Veins Forever: Unfortunately, spider veins are a chronic and recurrent problem. There are ways to keep them under control. I recommend to patients that after the initial treatments which usually take 2 to 3 sessions that they consider returning on a yearly basis for a touch up.. In addition to this, if they have many spiders or rapidly recurring spiders, they should have a venous sonogram for reflux.

Nothing is permanent: If you don't have untreated underlying vein disease causing the spiders, they should go away for good. However, your tendency to get spider veins is inherited, so you will always run the risk of developing new spider veins with time (1-10 years). The ones that are treated will go away permanently but nothing can guarantee that you won't get other spider veins in the future. It's in your dna.

Typically treatment: of spider veins, require more than one session to destroy them, and you can make new vessels over time. It takes 2-4 sessions to clear, and new ones can return yearly or every few years, there is no guarantee
