Neck injury: It would hurt. It would very likely also cause some bruising. I would hesitate to answer anything else without knowing what prompts this question.

Probably nothing.: The jugular vein runs in close proximity to the carotid artery in the neck. Although injury can occur to either one of them, it is very uncommon and usually requires significant blunt force or penetrating trauma. I doubt that the incident that you described would have caused any injury to the jugular vein.
