Indication 4 surgery: Pouch creation and successful performance in ulcerative colitis patients truly shows the "art" of medical/surgical care. If you have been told by your surgical team that you are not ready, or not a candidate for a pouch, then okay to ask more questions of that team. It is better to stay with an ileostomy than proceed too fast to a pouch. Many factors can derail your ultimate success.
