People-pleasing: Although nothing is wrong with wanting to get along with others, this needs to be balanced with having needs of your own. You suggest your need to please others runs your life. This is frequent in those who are fearful of dealing with the world on their own, fearful of being criticized, or who don't feel whole for other reasons. You might consider working with a psychologist on this problem.

Insecure?: Have you talked about this with the doctor who prescribed sertraline? If they can't work with you on this you might want to find a psychotherapist to talk through this very common, but troubling, issue. Learning new ways to interact with people and to value yourself takes practice, guidance and support - a bit like a coach. Find one you work well with and you'll get better at it over time. Best!

Deserve Long Answer!: It's a powerful thing once we recognize patterns in how we relate 2others & ourselves. That recognition actually creates an opportunity 2actually try 2understand such patterns - figure out how they got 2be/what shaped them. W/ such knowledge we can then decide what, if anything, we might want 2try 2do 2change them. Try a good psychodynamic/systems-focused psychologist who's also anxiety expert?
