Yes: Yes, but very unlikely. See your surgeon or get 2 nd opinion. Swelling should be resolved after 1 week unless you are very active.

See your MD: After a hydrocele repair there is a significant amount of swelling which can appear like the hydrocele is still present. This can happen after your return to normal activity. Please call your surgeon to make sure everything is normal. The post-surgical swelling should resolve over time.

Possible recurrence: Or postoperative swelling, more likely if you were super active & have not worn supportive underwear e.g. Athletic supporter, jockey underpants or lycra shorts. My post-pubertal hydrocelectomy patients get a compression dressing for couple of weeks to minimize post of swelling, cos scrotum can't offer much resistance to swelling. Other thought is ? Unrecognized hydrocele communication->recurrence.
