Edema: Elevate legs on two or three pillows for at least 30 minutes at least four times per day. When you sleep at night, elevate your legs on two pillows. Make sure ankles are higher than knees and knees higher than hips. Eat very little salt. Edecrin (ethacrynic acid) is a short acting diuretic. Try one dose twice a day for two days. Call your doctor for approval first. Be careful, this can lower your blood pressure.
