Assessment : You need a professional assessment. Don't try to convince your parents that you have adhd because there is no way you can know without a professional assessment; instead ask to see a psychiatrist or psychologist. Good luck.

Seek evaluation: Make an appointment for an evaluation with a psychiatrist familiar with adhd, and get a thorough evaluation. After that, your psychiatrist may invite your parents in to explain the situation. In my practice, with my patients, I am happy to meet with parents of patients of any age to explain in detail what the diagnosis is and what it means.

Adhd?: Ask the professional who made the diagnosis to meet your parents to explain, if that means so much to you.

Some schools: Some schools do evaluations at school and then refer to a psychiatrist. If teachers or your school after doing an evaluation think you have adhd then have the school talk with your parents to get a further assessment by a professional.
