Adjunct: Acupuncture would be an outstanding adjunct to treatment of moderate to severe depression. I use it for this purpose with patients. However it does not take the place of counseling. Psychiatric medication may still be indicated.

Severe depression may require Inpatient psychiatric Treatment with Anti-depressant Medication Moderate Depression requires Anti-depressant Medication and intensive Therapy.
