Depends: Your pediatrician is a good place to start. Common acne issues are seen often by pediatricians and the basic treatments they will use may be all you need. If the basic treatments don't help, or your pediatrician prefers to send you to a dermatologist, you have another path to take.

You can talk to eith: Most of the time acne problem can be treated by the pediatrician and if your pediatrician feels you need to consult a dermatologist in severe cases and if there are complications like cystic acne than he/she will refer you to a dermatologist, .But some parents prefer to consult a dermatologist and follow up by their pediatrician, that is ok too.

Acne: A simple benzoyl peroxide cream or wash can be the first step to improving your acne. Your doctor can also help with prescription medications. Many pediatricians feel very comfortable treating acne (and do it well) so i'd start there (sometimes that is the easier and faster way to get treatment). You and your doctor can discuss if a dermatologist is needed.
