Before or after: Fluconazole is well absorbed, even in the absence of stomach acid. It can safely be taken with or without food. It is important to avoid certain other medications however. Make sure you tell your doctor if you are taking Erythromycin type antibiotics.

Acne: Fluconazole is used to treat yeast infections. Most acne is cause by bacteria and antibiotics like Doryx and solodyn (minocycline) are usually used along with topicals like ziana or epiduo.

Confusing: Fluconazole is used for yeast, not acne. Usually 1 or 2 doses. Your best treatment is SPIRONOLACTONE, usually 100mg daily as anti androgen. Usually acne is gone after 3 months, continue to keep it away. Not if pregnant or in kidney failure. If severe cystic acne unresponsive to spironolactone, isotretinoin orally for 5 months will rescue you.
